Breast Asymmetry Correction
Mild asymmetry of the breasts is very common and normal. There are cases, however where the asymmetry is significant enough to cause psychological distress and/or physical symptoms due to the uneven weight distribution. The asymmetry may be due to a birth defect, trauma or an unknown cause resulting in under development of one breast at the time of puberty. New onset of breast asymmetry needs to be evaluated to make sure the breast enlargement is not due to a tumor.
Correction can be performed using breast implants, fat grafting, breast lifts, flaps or a combination of procedures.
